"Odd to think that believing in the things Christ said should scare people away, but it does. And is it any surprise? Plenty of horrific things done over the centuries in Christ's name. As a friend once said, "Christians are perhaps the only army that shoots their wounded..." One needs to keep perspective. These human atrocities were/are of no
fault of Jesus Christ. Trying to practice God's Love as described, is the big challenge. To unconditionally love,
non-stop, even your enemy? But, it is exactly that which makes Christ the greatest radical of all. By following
Jesus to the best of one's ability, in grace and through trusting faith (not "good works" alone), we see the
slow but sure transformation take place in our hearts. This then begins to reflect in those around us,
one day at a time. That makes me a potential radical, and I thank God for that."

Getting sober via the AA 12-step program in Oct '89 (relapsing once and coming back in by the Grace of God August 27th 1991) had a major impact on everything in Laurence's life.  Taking the 3rd of the 12 steps in 1994, was a profound experience for him.  Coming to Christ, June 25th 2006, made perfect sense along this journey, and this too caused a major impact.  His decision came about at the Vineyard Church of Ann Arbor with his involvement there on the worship team with Mike Brooks as pastor/director.  NOTE: Read all about Mike's blues band: BLUESHOUSE 313 

BROKEN WARRIORS
Is the name Miller gave his "attempt at forming" a Contemporary Christian Rock Band in the fall of 2007. He did join a cover band as such, that summer and enjoyed it, but wanted rather to be involved in something original. Having played and lead in the church band for a couple years and written a handful of songs on his own, he set forth to put something together. Long story short, that did not come to pass.Fall 2009, Mike Brooks and his wife Phili Brooks started what's called an "organic church", named Phoenix Metro Community Church.  The term organic refers to the style of church in the 1st century.  A freer form  of worship and teaching without all the dogma and pagan BS associated in standard organized church services.  On 4/25/10 Mike Brooks Baptized Laurence in Ann Arbor's Huron River, with his brothers & sisters present in support.  A wonderful experience.  That fall, a handful of thosein the church created an organic garden they named THE MUSTARD SEED GARDEN which supplied food for many throughout the year.  The garden's overflow was donated to Ann Arbor's Food Gatherers.

REPLACE EACH DAY WITH YOURS UNTIL
This song came to Laurence in a dream.  He was in a band, playing this song.  It had an extended and reasonably free-form improvisation at the beginning.  As he woke up, he was able to recall the melody and initial lyrics, and then continued writing fresh ones until it was finished.  He fell back to sleep, woke up the next day and recorded it.  His rock band MY BIOGRAPHY plays this song, as well as does the worship band at Phoenix Metro Community Church with a far more intimate interpretation.
