Getting sober via the AA 12-step program in Oct '89 (replapsing once and coming back in by the Grace of God August 27th 1991) had a major impact on everything in Laurence's life.  Coming to Christ, June 25th 2006, made perfect sense along this journey, and this too caused a major impact.  This came about at the Vineyard Church of Ann Arbor with his involvement there on the worship team with Mike Brooks as pastor/director.  Mike and his wife Phili recently started up a new church, Pheonix Metro, which Laurence is now part of.

Is the name Miller gave his attempt at forming a Contemporary Christian Rock Band in the fall of 2007.  He'd tried playing in a Contemporary Christian cover band that summer and enjoyed it, but wanted rather be involved in something original.  Having played and lead in the church band for a couple years, and having written a small handful of songs on his own, he set forth to put something together.  Long story short, that did not come to pass.

ON FAITH
Laurence doesn't talk overtly about his Faith.  He sums it up breifly here: "Odd to think that believing in the things Christ said should scare people away, but it can, does, and is it any surprise?  Christianity is not popular and Christ certainly has had a bad rap over the centuries. Plenty of horrific things done in Christ's name.  One needs to keep perspective.  These human atrocities were of no fault of His own.  So yes, it's no surprise that someone might be nervous at the thought of dealing with a Christian. Trying to be Christ-Centered practicing God's Love is the big challenge.  To unconditionally love, non-stop, even your enemy?  How impossible is that?  But, it is exactly that which makes Christ the greatest radical.  By following Him to the best of our ability, in Grace and through trusting Faith (not "good works" alone), we see the slow but sure transformation take place in our hearts.  This then begins to reflect in those around us, one day at a time. That makes me a potential radical and I like that."
